Help a Ranger, Save a Rhino Programme - 2014

The successful cooperation between rhino’s energy and the London based Save the Rhino International (SRI) exists since 2012.

rhino’s energy GmbH continues its support in the third and fourth quarter of 2014 and helps SRI to implement a project at the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park in South Africa, by donating money. This program provides financial resources for the rangers to support them in the fight against rhinos poaching.

The Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park offers a great living space to the black and the white rhino as well as to many other animals and is also well known for its nature protection.

Especially in times like these, with the highest rhino poaching rate (currently there is an average of 3 killed rhinos every day in South Africa) the fight against illegal animal poaching is absolutely essential. If this current rate of poaching continues, the rhino extinction will be estimated till 2026.

To counteract the already difficult working conditions of the conservationists, it is crucial to provide the rangers with working equipment. It’s a matter of cost-intensive materials like vehicles but also small things like flashlights or clothes are due to high erosion very important for the everyday work.

Therefore, the animal rights group Save the Rhino International launched the program Help a Ranger, Save a Rhino” in cooperation with the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park in South-Africa.
